Prepare for an evening of incredibly provocative, eclectic art and performance on as Three Rooms Press presents the Seventh Annual ¡LA DI DADA! Dada Salon: a wild ride of contemporary Dada performance and poetry by leading maverick artists.

The event includes the West Coast launch of the internationally-renowned MAINTENANT 13: Journal of Contemporary Dada Writing and Art (2019, Three Rooms Press), which features more than 200 visual and literary works by artists and writers worldwide in Full Color Throughout!!!

The event takes place Saturday, June 8, 8-11 pm at Beyond Baroque Literary Arts Center in Venice. Admission is $10; $6 for students & seniors. And Beyond Baroque members are free!!!

Costumes encouraged. Come as you aren’t!!!

Featured performers include Punk Icon Exene Cervenka (X), Poet/Performer extraordinaire S.A. Griffin, poet Richard Modiano, artists Bob Branaman and VinZula Kara, famed playwright-poet Doug Knott, poet-actor Harry E. Northup, performance poet non-pareil Linda J. Albertano, renowned LA poet Rich Fereguson, LA Dada Maestros Mike M. Mollett and Neal Skooter Taylor, Fluxus artist Bibiana Padilla Maltos, crime-writer & Dadist Travis Richardson, poet-performer Christian Georgescu, Circuitry & Poetry with Mona Jean Cedar & Jeff Boynton, visual artist Mark Hoefer, poet/photographer Kip Duff, and artist Silvia Wagensberg and performance poet Voxx Voltair. MAINTENANT 13: A Journal of Contemporary Dada Writing and Art serves up the controversial theme, “A.I. Artificial Ignorance”. If you think that life as we know it will be destroyed by Artificial Intelligence -Think again!!!! Where’s the intelligence? We’re surrounded and inspired by ignorance. How will this reduction of thought shape the future of interpersonal relations, intellectual advancement, and politics? As we teeter on the brink of redundancy, the concepts of Dada brilliantly encompass the urgency of present times with both clarity and purposeful confusion.

The MAINTENANT series, established in 2005, gathers the work of renowned and emerging dada artists and writers from around the world. The series has been archived in leading international institutions including the Museum of Contemporary Art–New York, the BelVUE Museum–Brussels, and more. Renowned contributors have included artists Mark Kostabi, Raymond Pettibon, Giovanni Fontana, Jean-Jacques Lebel, and Kazunori Murakami. Writers have included Allen Ginsberg, Gerard Malanga, Charles Plymell, Jerome Rothenberg, and more, with a strong contingent of punk musician-artist-writers including Grant Hart, Mike Watt, and Exene Cervenka.
