Charles Bukowski

After 29 months of virtual events, 3RP was ecstatic to return to live performance with the 15th Annual Charles Bukowski Memorial Reading (and celebration of Buk’s 102nd birthday) at legendary NYC venue The Bitter End. Raucous performances mingled with touching moments as Bukowski poems and stories flowed from the stage. Performers included poet George Wallace, novelist/screenwriter Richard Vetere, musician/author Jennifer Blowdryer, and poet Puma Perl. Plus, on-the-spot interpretations of Bukowski poems were delivered by a flock of spotlight readers from the audience including Francine Witte, Maja Wampuszyc, Elizabeth Kresch, Martina Salisbury, Karen Hildebrand, Nicca Ray, Karen Hildebrand, Ann Firestone Ungar, David Lawton, Danny Shot, and Kat Georges. 3RP co-director Peter Carlaftes hosted and toasted Hank Chinaski and made several lucky people very happy with Bukowski-related gifts throughout the night.
