December 2016
The turmoil of the recent U.S. election is reflective of a global trend that increasingly threatens the arts—particularly literary arts. It is literature that puts abstract ideas into words, providing visions of societies in which equality for all is an achievable goal and a necessity. It is literature that offers validity to expanded—often controversial—ideas of what it is to be human, acknowledging the wide variety of individuals that make up society, and how each holds an important place in the social construct. It is literature that exposes oppression and deceit, that upholds the flame of human decency and says it must not be extinguished. In an effort to protect literary freedom, Three Rooms Press will donate $1 for every book purchased on our website in the month of December to support PEN America’s #loudertogether campaign. Thank you for your support.
