Goodbye, Cornelia Street Cafe; Annual Bukowski Reading Cancelled
Our beloved Cornelia Street Cafe will sadly be closing its doors in 2019. Home to nearly 200 3RP events over the years, Cornelia Street has been a staple in the community, and we’re devastated to see it go.
Her doors first opened the weekend of July 4, 1977, and she’s been a cultural hub ever since. Over the last 40 years, the cafe has quintupled in size, won countless awards for its food and performances, and has been a reliable home to artists across the city. “A culinary as well as culture landmark,” as a mayoral proclamation from the City of New York put it in 1987, Cornelia Street Cafe will be dearly missed.
Sadly, due to the closure of CSC, our 12th Annual Charles Bukowski Memorial Reading, scheduled for January 4th, has been cancelled. We are currently tracking down an alternate venue, and hope to hold the event at a new location in February.
