Be a part of Three Rooms Press’ internationally-renowned journal Maintenant: A Journal of Contemporary Dada Writing & Art. Deadline has been extended so you now have until January 15 to submit your work!
Our journal is inspired by Dada instigator and Three Rooms Press spiritual advisor Arthur Cravan — who created the very first ‘zine in the world with his early 20th century publication Maintenant and we’re proud to carry on the tradition. In past issues, we have published bold work from Neo-Dadaists around the globe. We are honored to be included in the New York Museum of Modern Art archives, The Smithsonian, as well museums and galleries worldwide. It’s Dada time. And now . . . pull back the curtain:

THEME: A.I. ARTIFICIAL IGNORANCE
If you think Artificial Intelligence will mark the end of humanity then think again.
Look at the world around you. Where is the intelligence? Where? Lying is the norm. Incompetence is rampant. Information is soiled with whatever spin is footing the bill.
Time to concentrate on exposing the ignorance. Lay it right out there for the whole world to see.

Our cover for MAINTENANT 13 features the incredible work of renowned painter and collagist Fred Tomaselli, whose work has been exhibited worldwide, and has been used for album covers of Laura Cantrall, The Magnetic Fields, Phish, and more. The new issue will be released in June 2019 and supported by US and international performances.

This year we will be handling all submissions through Submittable.com — Please click the button below to submit your work.
Art files:We LOVE Dada-inspired poetic word art, collage and photography. All art must be submitted in jpeg, pdf, or png format, high resolution (min. 600px on the shortest side; we recommend vertical images).
Text files: If your piece is mostly text, please send a .doc or .docx file; 25 lines maximum. IMPORTANT: Please make all text files Times New Roman or Arial. NEW: If you want to use text plus an image, you need to combine the text and image yourself and save as a jpeg or png. Please be sure that you save it following the Art files guidelines.
MAINTENANT 13 will be printed in full COLOR, but you can still include image in black and white or color. Please consider submitting either color or black-and-white images on the theme of A.I. ARTIFICIAL IGNORANCE. If you are submitting a written piece–poetry or prose it need to be on the theme of A.I. ARTIFICIAL IGNORANCE.
MAINTENANT 13 will be published in June 2019, with themed launch events in New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Europe, and Asia. Stay tuned for details.
