Be a Part of Our Annual DADA Journal MAINTENANT: Deadline for Submissions extended to January 15
Attention all Dada artists and writers: You now have an extra two weeks to submit your material for consideration in the upcoming issue of the annual MAINTENANT: A Journal of Contemporary Dada Writing and Art. The deadline has been extended to 11:59 pm January 15. It will absolutely not be extended again . . . This isn’t health insurance, after all. What are we looking for this year? Art and writing related to the theme of “TECH-NO PRISONERS.” Is technology / artificial intelligence getting the upper hand and making prisoners of humans already? Will AI rule us all soon? Are computers useful tools or are humans the tools of computers? Robots. Smart phones. Fitness monitors. Selfies. Facial recognition. Live streaming. Dystopia. Just whose in charge here anyway? Who are the prisoners and who are the guards?
Recent issues have featured work by American writers and artists including Gerard Malanga, Exene Cervenka, Roger Conover, Charles Plymell, Mike Watt, Grant Hart, W. K. Stratton, Scott Wannberg, Linda J. Albertano, Jerome Rothenberg, William Burroughs, and Allen Ginsberg, and leading European, Asian, and Latin American dadaists including Jacques Lebel, Renaat Ramon, Philip Meersman, Ulf Stolterfoht, Pontus Carle, and many more.
