Bukowski event was a smash hit!
Thanks to everyone who showed for our 4th annual Bukowski NYC Poetry Reading. It was a smash hit, indeed: standing room only inside; and outside, more than 75 unlucky souls had to be turned away. Next year we will probably do 2 sets. If the world still exists, that is. Mark your calendars now for the first Friday in 2013: January 4th.
The show featured a lot of Bukowski’s fine work. Highlights included a virtual reading by George Wallace before the show of Buk classic “Shoelace,” Thomas Fucaloro’s excellent reading of “the apple” and Peter Carlaftes’ show closer “Poem for Personnel Managers,” and Angelo Verga’s rendering of the poem that got censored in a radio show earlier in the week.
